Films distributed by Portugal Film in focus at Brest European Short Film Festival [02/11/2018]

A great Portuguese entourage is flying to the next edition of Brest European Short Film Festival, happening from 6th to 11th November. ‘Beyond the Mountains’, directed by Miguel Moraes Cabral is running for the International Competition, as ‘The Night Shift’, directed by Hugo Pedro is part of a peculiar program dedicated to comedy Rire sans frontières.

Another special program of the festival is focused on the 15th anniversary of IndieLisboa International Film Festival – a very unique short film program – films selected in different editions and established directors side by side with young Portuguese filmmakers. Part of the program are the films ‘Batrachian’s Ballad’, directed by Leonor Teles; ‘The Case of J.’, directed by José Filipe Costa; ‘The Great Attractor’, directed by Rita Figueiredo; ‘Amor, Avenidas Novas’, directed by Duarte Coimbra and ‘War of the Worlds’, directed by Manuel Brito – this last one having its international première.

There will also be a program dedicated to two European film schools – Deutsche Film und Fernsehakademie Berlin, from Germany and Lisbon Theatre and Film School, from Portugal, presenting the short films ‘Where the Summer Goes (chapters on youth)’, directed by David Pinheiro Vicente and ‘Barehanded’, directed by Tomás Paula Marques.
