Pedro selected in Sundance [15/01/2017]

The short film Pedro, by André Santos and Marco Leão, is selected for the International Competition of the Sundance Film Festival, the largest independent American film festival and one of the most important festivals worldwide. This is the first time that a short film of exclusively Portuguese production is selected for this prestigious international festival, organized by the Sundance Institute, founded by Robert Redford to promote new filmmakers and independent productions.

Pedro is the sixth short film of this pair of young Portuguese filmmakers, which premiered at IndieLisboa - International Independent Film Festival in 2008 with A Nossa Necessidade de Consolo. Pedro premiered in July this year at Curtas Vila do Conde [Portugal] and made it to festivals like Queer Lisboa [Portugal], Festival du Nouveau Cinéma de Montréal [Canada], Haifa International Film Festival [Israel], Janela Internacional de Cinema do Recife [Brazil], Asiana International Short Film Festival [South Korea], AFI Fest [USA], L'Alternativa - Festival Cine Independiente de Barcelona [Spain], and In The Palace - International Short Film Festival [Bulgaria].

The Sundance Film Festival takes place January 19-29, 2017 in Park City, Utah. [15/01/2017]
