The Mesh and the Circle in Croatia [22/09/15]

The Mesh and the Circle, the first film from the visual artists Mariana Caló and Francisco Queimadela, continues its international film festival's course after premiering in IndieLisboa - International Independent Film Festival
The film was recently screened in competition at Split International Film Festival (12-19 September), one of the oldest and most prestigious festivals dedicated to experimental cinema in Croatia, and now goes to 25FPS in Zagreb, which runs until 29 September. The film is included in one of the most demanding competitions for experimental cinema and new expressions of the moving image.

The Mesh and the Circle creates in a unique sensorial experience a game of construction about manual labour and its empirical history. Mariana Caló e Francisco Queimadela work together since 2010. Their practice is developed with a privileged use of moving images, which intersects installative and site-specific environments, and also drawing, painting, photography and sculpture. Their work was exhibited in London, Guimarães, Prague, Porto, Berlin, Lisbon, and Milan, and received several awards.

Portugal Film will be in Zagreb next Saturday (26th September) to present the film and establish contacts with the international programmers attending the event   [22/09/15]
