The first feature film represented by Portugal Film, The Wolf's Lair, Catarina Mourão latest film, was presented as a world premiere during the prestigious Rotterdam Film Festival, which took place in The Netherlands from January 21st to February 1st.Catarina Mourão is known to be one of the most delicate insights of Portuguese cinema. After Through Shadows, a portrait of the artist Lourdes Castro, the director now depicts the writer Tomaz de Figueiredo who is also her grandfather. Catarina Mourão researches deep into her family's memories while confronting them. As she says: Initially the idea was to explore the memories we block, the dreams, the unconscious, and how that is represented in cinema. A lot of the stories the family told itself to survive are false. The film is filled with fictions. The aim was not to find the truth and answer all the questions. I may leave the film with even more questions than I had when I started...Portugal Film was in Rotterdam to promote The Wolf's Lair with Catarina Mourão who was there to present her sessions and answer the questions from an enthusiastic audience.

After the world premiere in Rotterdam, the film was presented in Portugal during IndieLisboa - International Independent Film Festival where it won the Audience Award for Best Feature. [02/02/2015]
