Tribute do Teresa Villaverde at Exground Filmfest [09/11/2022]

The German film festival Exground Filmfest 2022 has Portugal as the highlight country of the 35th edition, which starts on November 11th in Wiesbaden, Germany. Among the films presented there are those that pay homage to director Teresa Villaverde, with “Transe” (2006), on November 22nd, chosen to close the festival. According to the event's official page, ten fiction and documentaries will be shown, in addition to fourteen short films. “In addition to exploring various periods in Portuguese society and politics, the 'focus country' also provides a representative look at Portugal's geographic diversity.” Teresa Villaverde is known for making films with a critical bias towards the Portuguese social condition, such as “Colo” (2017), which deals with the financial crisis that hit the country in 2008. Her relevance in the Portuguese cinema scene took her to festivals around the world, as well as being recognized by numerous awards.
