Blue Has No Dimensions and Becoming Male in the Middle Ages at Rotterdam International Film Festival [25/01/2022]

The Rotterdam Film Festival starts today and with several Portuguese presences: in the short film competition in Rotterdam there is “Becoming Male in the Middle Ages”, by Pedro Neves Marques, and in the “Short and Medium Length” section the film “Blue Has No Dimensions” by Ágata de Pinho.

The recent Short & Mid-length section is a central part of the festival, constituting a unique showcase of moving images and experimental films by artists for works under 60 minutes. Displayed in a variety of 3D to 35mm film formats, it's a celebration of film and video in all its forms.

In addition to these, short films have their own competition on the IFFR. What sets this one apart from the Tiger Competition for feature films is the fact that it's not just for young and up-and-coming talent, with all filmmakers having a chance to win. Every year, between 20 and 25 short films compete for three equal Ammodo Tiger Short Awards, each worth €5,000.

The 51st edition of this festival ends on February 6th. For the second year in a row it will only be 'online' because of the covid-19 pandemic.
