Mirage My Bros, by Diogo Baldaia, won the award for Best Fiction & Documentary at VIS - Vienna Shorts Festival. The jury composed by Austrian programmer of Diagonale, Alexandra Zawia, photographer and writer Pamela Pianezza, and Peter van Hoof, short film program manager at Rotterdam Film Festival, handed the award to the director who was in Vienna for the closing ceremony. The jury of this section considered that "The award goes to a captivating, poetic and sensual exploration of youth, a stupendous film that left us mesmerized by the immensity of the wonders that this medium we thought we knew so well stil has to offer."
The film, which premiered internationally at the Rotterdam Film Festival in January this year, has thus added its third distinction after having won the Best Portuguese Short Film Award at IndieLisboa in 2017, and the Special Jury Mention of the Glasgow International Short Film Competition Festival, last March.
Mirage My Bros is an Areosa production distributed by Portugal Film - Portuguese Film Agency.
