
José Filipe Costa
José Filipe Costa is a filmmaker and lecturer. He holds a PhD degree from the Royal College of Art, London. His films include “A Pleasure, Comrades!” (Locarno 2019), “Red Line” (2011), “In Between Walls” (2002), which he co-directed and the short fiction films “O Caso J.” (2017), “Sunday” (2005) and “Outside” (2008). Some of his films have been selected for festivals such as Locarno, BFI-London, Hot Docs, Viennale, Cinma du Rel, PlanetaDoc, Fórumdoc.bh, IndieLisboa, Doclisboa. He has been a lecturer at several academic institutions and was Visiting Professor at Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro in 2013-2014. He is the author of the book “O Cinema ao Poder!” (ed. Hugin, Lisbon, 2002).
